Time to get the hiking season started. As a starter hike, we will do the Skyline trail in the Blue Hills. It's right on 128, a short distance from Boston. This should be an easy hike but could turn into a moderate one if the weather is hot.

We will head up to the top of the weather observatory which is a 420 foot climb. From there it levels out and we will head for the skyline trail. From there, it's a series of up and downhill climbs. As the whole trail is about 10 miles long, we will head out on it for about an hour and then turn around and come back. Bring all the normal hiking gear such as hiking boots, backpack, lunch, 2 quarts of water, non-cotton clothing, etc. Additional hike in the White Mountains planned for July 31st so this would be a good chance to get yourself ready and to make sure all your gear is in good working order.
